When considering upgrades that may involve multiple versions or significant version changes, we recommend setting up a development environment and performing any upgrades or code changes there to avoid disruption to your live website.  We will request that you test the upgraded version of your website prior to pushing it live to your production environment.

Direct Upgrade in Production

Alternatively, for simple patches or upgrades that are likely to not impact your production website, WSM can apply the upgrade directly into production and monitor for any issues that may come up. WSM will always backup your website and database(s) before applying the upgrade just in case a rollback is required. WSM recommends this cost-savings approach for CMS platforms only.
