Disaster Recovery and Failover

Safety & Confidence

Any business that relies on hosted applications to run its operations requires a Disaster Recovery (DR) or failover plan. The basics include a documented recovery procedure, which clearly states the steps that need to be taken to restore critical data as quickly as possible, as well as ongoing backups and data syncs between production and failover servers.

If your organization is already virtually hosted or cloud-based, a DR plan can be quickly effected using one of many automated DevOps tools like Chef or Puppet.

If your production servers are primarily dedicated/physical, you may consider virtualizing the production servers and retaining the image in an offline state to restore in event of production outage.

A WSM solution specialist can evaluate your current DR plan, or create a DR plan for you that will ensure continuity of your business operations in the event of any failure.
