A nationwide auto supply and maintenance chain, Pep Boys has over 800 locations in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. In addition, Pep Boys operates more than 8,300 service bays.

The Background

The client’s old IT infrastructure was outdated and inefficient relative to top private cloud-based technology and third-party hosting solutions. The overhead associated with maintaining the support functions needed to trouble-shoot server malfunctions and upgrade server space was costly.

The Challenge

Pep Boys decided to optimize its IT infrastructure by implementing cloud-based hosting and computing solutions. Retaining a large amount of data relating to customer purchases and parts inventory, the company required a highly accurate and cost-effective system for data management. The main objective for the project was to consolidate the client’s source servers into a private cloud environment.
